We are not consumed
Updated: Nov 29, 2018
Times, seasons, good, success, failures, a fall, a rise, life presents us with all of these things, we can’t control their occurrences, but what we can control are our reactions. How do you walk through a storm when it’s wet and you need to arrive at a destination, do you take shelter until it’s over before moving or do you brave through it? Do you roll through the mud, soaked, but determined that you will make it to your destination?
Life is such that it is so unpredictable. We only hope for the good things we can predict and not the bad. The only thing we can predict as believers is that no matter what life throws at you, you have a God who is always right by your side, who will hold your hand and help you through. He’s like that friend that never leaves your side.
But life is such that it presents us with both at any given time. Some are bold to embrace it and work and push through it, another not so much. So what then is the difference between these two people? I think it really comes down to mind-set and how you choose to tackle these unpredictabilities. Some stay down when they are shaken, some stay up but they are stirred, others fight to stay up and some are also shaken but not stirred.
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
